We've all had seasons when we sometimes knowingly or unknowingly were passengers of the emotional rollercoaster. Although grateful for the moral and spiritual support of our families, the greatest lesson comes from learning to weather the storm in the arms of Jesus! Like many of us, before I could love myself, I needed to learn how to embrace the ineffable love of the Creator of love. In ruminating upon 1 John 4:16 (NLT) which says “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them” I realized whether in the valley or on the mountaintop, his love never changes and He is the same in both places!
In the midst of the trials, tribulations, and tears, I learned the heightened presence of God’s love is always near showing us how to self-love through Him. Oftentimes the world mocks dreamers (people with unrealistic thoughts about life). Contrary to the underdeveloped mindset of others, the Word of God undeniably states God did not create us simply as dreamers, but visionaries; individuals created with an irrefutable and achievable purpose for their lives.
As a single, married, divorced, widowed and young or seasoned woman, our greatest position of empowerment in life comes from being a daughter of the Most High God. You see, it is not the severity of the storm which defines our inward strength, but the stableness of our God’s love towards us, even when we ourselves are weak!
